However, in that original stillness, was nevertheless latent the will and aim of the ancient gold-diggers. Both together, awaiting those spirits capable of recognizing the original richness of that landscape: The seekers of that kind of gold only known by the spirit. Gold just as native, with carats measuring good live: rigorous but surprising landscape, unstained light, crystal sea of restless colours, open paths, pleasant climate. And they arrived… following routes that don't seem to lead anywhere. Discovering their place in the world, building homes in Rodalquilar's valley. Just like that, this strangers sage encouraged a new start, determined to conserve those treasures kept in time for that people who enjoy and respect them.

         The same will, the same aim of arriving to a rich environment taking good care of those who inhabit them, established the architectonical design of our home. In our home, the old and traditional “cortijo”, with North African heritage adapted to the local geography, expresses itself in a contemporary language: spaces that guaranty intimacy in different levels, corridors and curvy stairs, windows taming light and temperature… interweave with the comfort needs of our time. In this architectural settlement, again with the same will and aim, Gabriel filled the spaces with crafted furniture and he decorated spaces with small and precise details making them unique. In this way he filled the emptiness with that small treasures that transform a house into a home and are the emblem of the spontaneous richness of this valley situated in the “Parque Natural del Cabo de Gata”. That is how “La Cortijada” was born.
